The Name
Why jopsa?
My first trip to Malawi, and my first time on the African continent, I made some friends. One of the younger kids spelled my name – “Joshua” – with a stick, in the dirt. What resulted is displayed above.
More than anything, the name represents a personal connection to people – a reminder that I’m working with and for human beings. With different ideas regarding ‘global health’ and ‘development’ swirling around, it’s crucial to spell things out. I’ll use jopsa.org to shed light on my activities and perspective.
